World Naked Bike Ride Australia 2010
Peacefully expose the vulnerability of cyclists, humanity and nature in the face of cars, aggression, consumerism and non-renewable energy.
At least 5 Australian towns and cities will participate in the next southern hemisphere leg of the World Naked Bike Ride in March 2010. More cities may be added to the list if volunteers are found to organise the ride in new towns and cities. The official southern hemisphere ride date is Saturday the 13th of March 2010.
The dates and locations are:
- Saturday the 6th of March 2010: Nimbin.
- Sunday the 7th of March 2010: Byron Bay.
- Saturday the 13th of March 2010: Sydney.
- Sunday the 14th of March 2010: Newcastle.
- Sunday the 21st of March 2010: Melbourne.
Rides have been held in Adelaide (2008 and 2009) and Canberra (2009). Some local Organisers have retired leaving the remaining Organisers uncertain whether they will proceed in 2010. Volunteers are needed in these two cities to help organise. If rides proceed then the dates would be determined by local Organisers but within a week either side of Saturday the 13th of March 2010.

History
Australia has participated in the World Naked Bike Ride since 2004. Check local ride location pages for further information.
Future
Organisers are planning rides for several cities in Australia. All the cities with media contacts have future rides planned. Where rides have not occurred or not occurred in the last 12 months, it is often the case that there is no one who has volunteered to organise the next ride in that location. People interested in participating or organising a WNBR in Australia should join the discussion group appropriate to their location (or the WNBR Australia Yahoo! group if none of the existing discussion groups are appropriate), try to make contact with others with similar views and demonstrate some initiative. It will happen if you help make it happen! Please refer to the Organizing a ride in Australia page for more information about starting or restarting a ride.
