Next ride
Date: Sunday 15 March 2009
Time: 12 noon
Location: South West Corner of Sydney Park, St Peters
Ride location and how to get there
The assembly place for the ride is the South West Corner of Sydney Park, St Peters. The closest intersection is the corner of Barwon Park Road and Campbell Road. It is about 600m due South of St Peters Railway Station which is on the Bankstown Line. Time tables for the Bankstown Line on weekends for trains from Town Hall and all stops to St Peters and Liverpool or Strathfiled via Lidcombe to St Peters are available on the CityRail website.
It has been decided that the ride assembly place will also be the body painting place so there is no ride between two separate locations as there was in 2008. Clothing is optional in the World Naked Bike Ride. Riders can keep a minimum amount of clothing until after the ride proper has riden some distance form the assembly/painting place. This is called: A Rolling Start. In 2008 it became obvious that the presence of the press and public would have saved the riders from harrasment from ill-informed and overzealous authorities (see: The Age, 9 Mar 2008: "Naked cyclists cop grief from security".

Critical Mass
All riders interested in participating in the Sydney WNBR should consider participating in Sydney Critical Mass. Marte will be attending some Sydney Critical Mass rides in the lead up to the Sydney WNBR to promote participation, encourage people to help organise and holding organising meetings after the CM ride. We meet at the Archibald Fountain at the Northern end of Hyde Park, on the last Friday of every month at 5:30pm for a 6:00pm departure. You can find a map and pictures of the location on the Sydney Critical Mass wiki page.
Legality
The laws that are relevant to public nudity in New South Wales are applicable throughout the state. For discussion of this topic, please refer to the separate page about New South Wales Laws.

Publicity: flyers, posters, images etc
These are the current flyer, poster and BIG POSTER to be used for the WNBR Australia 2009 to help promote participation. Please print these and stick them up where people will see them. Why not colour one in and stick it to your refrigerator?
History
Some people confuse WNBR with the Sydney Body Art Ride but they are two different and separate bike events.

Future
In August 2007, Marte volunteered to help organise WNBR in Sydney. Marte seeks help from as many people as possible to make WNBR Sydney 2008 a big success. Marte welcomes the contribution of ideas and practical help. People interested in participating or helping Marte organise a WNBR in Sydney should at least try to come to Sydney Critical Mass rides (see above) and the WNBR meetings that follow, join the discussion group, try to make contact with others with similar views and demonstrate some initiative. Regardless of the level of help that is offered to help organise WNBR Sydney, Marte will pressing ahead and making the ride happen! Please refer to the Organizing a ride page for more information about how to help organise a WNBR.
