The terrain is fairly flat though there are no paved roads within the ConFest site so it suits bikes with wide tyres like BMXs, Mountain Bikes, Ladies Shopper Bikes and Cruisers. Please bring your pushbike

The terrain is fairly flat though there are no paved roads within the ConFest site so it suits bikes with wide tyres like BMXs, Mountain Bikes, Ladies Shopper Bikes and Cruisers. Road bikes and racers are not recommended. The area is known for having thorns which can pierce tyres and tubes so make your tyres thorn-proof if you can and you MUST bring a puncture repair kit. If you can bring a spare bike (or three) to share with others that would be fantastic because the number of people keen to participate has exausted WNBR stocks of bikes at previous ConFests.

Features of the programme include:

  • World Naked Bike Ride practice rides. Twice daily clothing optional bike rides through the vast (nearly 1000 acres) natural Confest private site. Spread the message of peace, love, and protection of mother earth through sustainable cycling.

History

Australia has participated in the World Naked Bike Ride since 2004. Check local ride location pages for further information.

Future

Organisers are planning rides for several cities in Australia. All the cities with media contacts have future rides planned. Where rides have not occurred or not occurred in the last 12 months, it is often the case that there is no one who has volunteered to organise the next ride in that location. People interested in participating or organising a WNBR in Australia should join the discussion group appropriate to their location (or the WNBR AustraliaYahoo! group if none of the existing discussion groups are appropriate), try to make contact with others with similar views and demonstrate some initiative. It will happen if you help make it happen! Please refer to the Organizing a ride page for more information about starting or restarting a ride.

Publicity: flyers, posters, images etc

These are the current flyer, poster and BIG POSTER to be used for the WNBR Australia 2009 to help promote participation. Please print these and stick them up where people will see them. Why not colour one in and stick it to your refrigerator?
