Problems...
I am being asked to provide a captcha after attempt to edit page, but boxes not provided to enter data. (User:Wnbrmelbourne)
- Tried to find the cause of this problem, but so far haven't been able to reproduce it. - Erik Baas (talk) 03:54, 26 August 2018 (PDT)
- There is a change to the ReCaptcha method used, since the upgrade to MediaWiki 1.31, which I did last Friday. The new method is called RecaptchaNocaptcha, and is described as follows:
The new generation of ReCaptcha, called NoCaptcha, was introduced by Google back in December 2014[2] and reduces the need for humans to solve a CAPTCHA. Based on a user-side JavaScript (which can't be controlled by the user the administrator), reCaptcha tries to identify the site user as a human by analyzing his browsing behavior on the page. The user then has to click an "I'm not a robot" checkbox and (in the best case) doesn't have to do anything further to prove he's a human. However, in some cases, the user still has to solve a CAPTCHA image.
If the problem persists, I could revert to the old method, where everyone was presented with a CAPTCHA image. --Robjordan (talk) 05:50, 26 August 2018 (PDT)
So I am currently unable to save anything. And I have been keeping the information for all of the Australian rides current. If the problem is not fixed, there is no point having the wiki as it will become quickly out of date if people such as myself cannot update. (User:Wnbrmelbourne)
