What is special about the Berkeley ride, is that it's a much more casual ride than the rides in larger cities. There is no official organizer, attendees simply finalize the route details on the day of the ride. Detours welcome! There is a local Berkeley city statute prohibiting public nudity but since 2009 and through 2014 the rides have been just fine, with few police encountered, seeming only to be observing our well-behaved bikers. The same can be said at other Berkeley events involving some nudity, such as the annual How Berkeley Can You Be? parade and the recent "Old Oak" protests.
