Hi there, welcome.
I don't think there are any rules about naming image files on this wiki. And I'm certainly not in a position to lecture anyone at all. But I did notice a curious discrepancy between your user name and the names of files you uploaded. I assume it might be practical to start a filename with the location it is exclusively good for. Oops, I really don't mean that you shouldn't edit pages for locations outside Canberra! And only on this wiki it might be rather nice to stick with WNBR related matters ;-)
- Filename "Wnbr sticker5.jpg" could be e.g. "Australia_sticker_5_WNBR.jpg"
- Filename "V3map.jpg", a route map assumedly for the Canberra ride, could be e.g. "Canberra_map_V3 ,jpg"
- Filename "Cyclonudista.jpg" appears something for a lot of locations in several countries, but it shows a poster (?) specifically for Canberra. I think it would be better if it were called e.g. "Canberra_poster_Cyclonudista.jpg".
Unless you wish readers to zoom in so as to clearly identify the people in the background picture, the file resolution 3,508 × 4,960 pixels might be slightly exaggerated.
- If one 'goes' to File:A3-5-wiki.png: on the place one would expect to see the image at 424 × 599 pixels preview, appears "Error creating thumbnail: invalid thumbnail parameters". The same message where one expects to see a thumbnail. Please check. And does it perhaps get better if you repeat the upload? Is the extremely high resolution that takes 6.5 megabyte at 3,508 x 4,960 pixels needed? (Hard to judge as I can't see what it is about, but it can not possibly fit a full high resolution screen.)
There are numerous files that do not follow my naming suggestion. Only the Cyclonudista.jpg disturbed me a bit.
A few practical file sizes:
- File:Backtoeden_nl.jpg 812×213 (20 KB) - hey, that's the the location I have been trying to look after, be it much more recently.
- File:London2007photobyminimouse1.jpg 750×466 (109 KB)
- File:London-route-2009.gif 743×492 (130 KB)
Perhaps have a look at some other pages on this wiki for roughly similar images with a similar purpose as Canberra's. Click on an image to open the File:imagename for checking e.g. its dimensions (in a column of section 'File history'), and if appropriate perhaps downgrade yours before uploading it again by your current filename: There is a link for that underneath the table in 'File history'.
Unlike for normal pages, there is no tab 'Move' for File:imagename. I have no experience with renaming images. Perhaps it requires a delete and an upload by the new name. Only an administrator can perform a 'delete', or perhaps a rename. I assume Nsayers may help you out, if you contact him on his talk page.
Good luck with one of the earliest Autumn critical masses,

Hi Wnbr.Canberra and SomeHuman
Organisers for the WNBR in Canberra are doing a marvelous job. What is even more amazing is that they are new to role for the 2010 ride. Canberra had a ride in 2009 but the Organisers for that ride retired or moved to live far away. I found the new Organisers through the legacy of the facebook network which was established and left by the previous Organisers. I have been mentoring and helping the new Canberra Organisers to the best of my ability as WNBR Australia Coordinator.
- Note 1: I advised Canberra to upload their posters and flyers at the highest possible (original) resolution. This allows everyone who wishes to help promote the event access to the best quality image file for printing. The images are not just for viewing on the internet or this wiki website. They are for hard-copy reproduction. Low resolution files (as suggested by SomeHuman) are not suitable for this purpose. Thumbnails on the Canberra ride page have been reduced and linked appropriately for use on that page. I strongly recommend keeping the large file sizes.
- Note 2: WNBR Canberra is the ONLY city or town in Australia to have produced a flyer / poster and upload it to the wiki entirely without my assistance. I applaud them.
- Note 3: The file names are a bit awkward or open to confusion in the case of the use of the name Cyclonudista. I recommend using the city name and year in the file name. Please feel free to have a look at some of the files I have uploaded for a workable system.
- Note 4: I can do the deletion and tidying up stuff when time permits. Right now we are very busy with getting our rides promoted through publicity and media. I am happy to help Canberra and would rather that I help them as they are Australian.
