STOP PRESS - PRE-RIDE NAKED FLASHMOB

Our pre-ride FLASHMOB ride will take place on Sunday 25th July 2021.

There are a limited number of tickets! Just £5 for a fun event supporting a great cause. Make sure you don't miss out, book now or be forever disappointed!

After over 2 years since our last ride in 2019 , we are looking forward to this very special, one off and "secret" event . It will be a true pleasure and honour to welcome our regular participants as well as new supporters for this fun fundraising and celebratory ride.

As part of your booking you will leave us an email address, mobile phone number or both. During the Saturday evening we will send out meeting place and time details to all ticket holders - watch this space!

It is our intention to make our protest accessible to the whole population, and we are acutely aware that female and non-binary participants are woefully under-represented. We understand the trepidation to join caused by the reaction of an uneducated minority portion of observers. To help improve the balance and show our solidarity with the group, we are pleased to offer our "non-cis males go free" promotion. Female ticket buyers can invite a non-cis male friend for free! Just buy your own ticket and then use the same email address and phone number to book a ticket for your friend under the "non-cis male friend" ticket type. Only you will be sent the joining details for you both.

The ride will be clothes optional and will not return to the start point, so you should be prepared to take clothing with you, a bike lock (and perhaps a towel?). It will be a gentle ride of about 3 Km without much uphill! If you wish to body paint please do so before you arrive, as there will be only a very short preparation time (like - strip off and go when the whistle sounds!).

Please be prepared to ride safely, you are reminded that you do so entirely at your own risk, we will not be insuring you. If you so wish please continue to take Covid19 safety measures, including mask wearing, although normal cycle spacing outdoors should provide good distancing. Please do not race or overtake the lead Marshal and, in particular at traffic lights which must be obeyed, observe marshalling instructions.

Thank you for your support, funds raised will be used to pay for the essential costs of the main ride - 12pm on Sunday 15th August at The Level for a 2pm departure - we'll see you there too!

If you can't participate in our flashmob event but would like to support our cause , feel free to make a donation . Similarly if you would like to make an extra donation on top of your ticket please choose that option with our sincere thanks.

For your tickets please see eventbrite at: https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/brighton-naked-bike-flashmob-tickets-163436425749

See you (all of you!) there!

CORONAVIRUS UPDATE

Due to the Covid-19 restrictions, Brighton Naked Bike Ride 2020 did not take place as planned. We are pleased to say that we are now planning, restrictions permitting, to ride on Sunday 15th August, Regular riders will note that this date is, as usual, the day after London's proposed ride date.

Meanwhile, stay safe. Vive la velorution nue!

Please donate to the WNBR UK Fund

The UK World Naked Bike Ride fund meets the cost of insuring rides
across the UK, and provides local organisers with money for
poster/flyer printing, advertising, ride equipment etc.
Please give generously.

Join us for a naked "protestival" ride through the City — followed by a refreshing sea swim and beachfront after-party!

Every year since 2006 (except 2020!), Brighton has joined World Naked Bike Rides around the world to celebrate cycling and the human body. The ride demonstrates the vulnerability of cyclists on the road and is a protest against car culture.

Brighton's World Naked Bike Ride will take place on Sunday 15 August 2021. This will be our 15th ride. Up to 1,000 riders have taken part in previous peak years (2014 and 2010). Full nudity is permitted at the event, in cooperation with Sussex Police.

The event is one of several UK and worldwide rides happening around the same time, including nearby London, Portsmouth, and Southampton. It is scheduled to allow people to take part in other rides as well, if they like.

The ride has in the past been part of national Bike Week.

Please join our email list for occasional updates on the ride and related events.

Planning meet-ups

Please come along if you'd like to get involved in any way or want to find out more, anyone is welcome. We meet at least once a month in the run-up to the ride, from January to June.

Next meeting date/s: See Facebook

In particular, we are keen to find people willing to assist with:

  • Setting up and packing away equipment at Preston Park on the ride day (gazebos, signage, fencing etc). Preferably non-riders, as the packing away must be carried out after the ride sets off.
  • Body painting. Skilled body painters sought, an indoor location may be available.
  • Organising pre-ride fundraising or after ride social events.
  • Marshalling during the ride: Helping to keep riders together and safe, and providing assistance if necessary.
  • Stewarding before the ride: Collecting donations, handing out flyers and dealing with intrusive photographers.
  • Bike mechanics to assist riders with bike repairs and maintenance before the ride and at the rest stop.

Get involved!

Ride on the day

Please show your support for this event and its message by riding "as bare as you dare" on the day. For more information on what to bring etc, visit the Joining a ride page.

Spread the word

The more people know about the ride, the more will come. The more people come and ride, the more successful the event will be, and the safer riders will feel.
