Game Day Volunteers
Ride Leaders
Generally consisting of three people at the front of the ride to make sure intersections are safe to proceed.
- Stop at all stoplights and stop signs, and follow all traffic laws cars must obey.
- No one is to pass the Ride Leaders, and the ride leaders need to make sure to ask participants kindly to stay behind them.
- It's recommended Ride Leaders have a speedometer of some kind because we want the ride to stay around 10 MPH, but should never exceed 14 MPH.
Secondary Leaders
The number of Secondary Leaders are generally dependent on the number of riders.
- Secondary Leaders makes sure traffic stays stopped while everyone makes it threw the intersection.
- If the ride should split up you are to lead people to either the starting location or try and intercept the group. Make sure to follow all traffic laws at ALL times please.
The Caboose
The Caboose is one or two people.
- The Caboose stays at the end of the ride to encourage riders that might be riding a little slow to try and keep up so as to not make holes in the ride.
Holes in the ride could confuse drivers, and break up the ride.
Days leading up to the next ride
Wiki Keepers
This one is fairly strait forward. I've made a couple of pages That need to be kept up with.
- Be sure to add yourself to the Roster.
- Cut and past outdated information from the Roster Page to the History Page and add something about how the ride went if possible.
Donations
If we can gather a dollar from as many people as possible then we'd be set for the full years budget of about $200 in random supplies for the ride like flyers threw the year, and body paint, etc.
All donations are received threw our PayPal account.
Street Team
I'm always looking for people to help spread the word, and one of the simplest ways to do so is to join the Facebook Fan Page. Doing so will let your friends know about the protest on Oil Dependency, but if you want to get more involved email us, and I'm sure we can find something you'd be interested in doing for the cause.
Here is a copy of the flyers I've been passing out. Kinko's will will print out about 50 sheets, and cut them into a total of 400 flyers for about $10. I bought a hole puncher and some rubber bands, and have been attaching them to the handle bar of every bicycle I've come across. I've also been passing them out at different events, and businesses like local coffee shops, gay bars and pizzerias that would let me leave a small stacks where they have a spot designated to leave flyers for costumers.
Print out the following to hand out to people or to leave a stack in businesses.
Post the following anywhere people might be like stores, bus stops, and near buttons that activate crosswalks, and be sure to cut the tabs for people to pull off.
