I was born and raised in Rhode Island. After a head injury when I was eleven years old, I was unable to get a driver's license. Bikes has been my ticket towards independence and transportation. Now that I am seizure-free, I still do not intend on getting a license for environmental reasons. It is important to me that bicyclists are supported and provided safe roads. I have worked with the Students for Environmental Action at CCRI, where we have hosted a four day sustainable event and began an edible forest garden. I am also working with the New Urban Farmers, which is a non-profit that works on making healthy and sustainable food available, through urban agriculture, available to low-income families. The organization also works with the community through children's programs and community gardening.
