The Archived ride locations page is designed to help cleanup the global List of rides page. Rides may have lapsed after a year or so, or never got off the ground. In some cases, a promoter created a new page only to post a spam link, never intending to organize a WNBR. Anyway, here's how to archive such rides, or bring one back if you're serious about organizing a ride in any of these cities.

Archive a ride location

If a ride has lapsed:

1) Add the location's ride page link (even if that page would not exist) after «Archived:» In the Edit window of the List of rides, copy & paste the location's ride page link (and the name in local language, if present) to the top of the country's list of ride locations. If the country would not yet have an «Archived:», set it:
Example:

Germany
(Deutschland)<br clear="all" />
Archived: Muenster (Münster)

2) From the List of rides page (while still in its Edit window), cut the location's ride line (including the complete ..., ... information, if any) & paste it into the Archived ride locations page (also in the Edit window) under the proper country/area, alphabetically by location. Change the "Ride status tab" to Kickstart this ride:
Example:

* Muenster (Münster) keep any details 27 Jun 2009

3) Insert this at the very top of the Edit window of the ride location page being archived:

Archived

Save all three pages, and have a look at the results.

Unarchive a Ride

If a ride is being reactivated:

1)

 • Cut & paste the ride text from the Archived ride locations page (while in the Edit screen for that page) back to the List of rides page in the proper spot and change the "Ride Status Tab" accordingly:
*
*

2)

 • remove the ride page link after the word Archived: (in the List of rides page)

3)

 • remove the archived message at the beginning of the ride page for the ride you are re-listing
