The Archived ride locations page is designed to help cleanup the global List of rides page. Rides may have lapsed after a year or so, or never got off the ground. In some cases, a promoter created a new page only to post a spam link, never intending to organize a WNBR. Anyway, here's how to archive such rides, or bring one back if you're serious about organizing a ride in any of these cities.

Archive a ride location

If a ride has lapsed (and there had not been earlier sure, documented rides):

1) Add the location's ride page link (even if that page would not exist) after «Archived:» In the Edit window of the List of rides, copy & paste the location's ride page link (and the name in local language, if present) to the top of the country's list of ride locations. If the country would not yet have an «Archived:», set it:
Example:

Germany
(Deutschland)<br clear="all" />
Archived: Muenster (Münster)

2) From the List of rides page (while still in its Edit window), cut the location's ride line (including the complete ..., ... information, if any) & paste it into the Archived ride locations page (also in the Edit window) under the proper country/area, alphabetically by location. Change the «Ride status tab» to Kickstart this ride:
Example:

* Muenster (Münster) keep any details 27 Jun 2009

3) Insert this at the very top of the Edit window of the page (if it exists) for the ride location being archived:

Archived

Make sure you have saved all three pages, and take a good look at the results.

Unarchive a ride location

If a ride location is being reactivated:

1) Cut & paste the ride line from the Archived ride locations page (while in the Edit window for that page) into the Edit window of the List of rides page, at the proper spot (alphabetically by location). Change the «Ride status tab» accordingly, and set the newly planned ride date:
* Muenster (Münster) keep e.g. province, state: d Mmm YYYY 27 Jun 2009
*
2) There above, remove the ride location page link from behind the word 'Archived:'. If there remains no other archived location, simply remove that entire 'Archived' line.
3) Remove this from the very top of the Edit window of the ride location page being reactivated:

Archived

In case that page did not yet exist (you will have seen a red link), create that page (see examples by active other locations, preferably in the same country.

Make sure you have saved all three pages, and take a good look at the results.
