I was heartened to see that people are gradually becoming bold enough to shed their inhibitions and all their clothes in a public but non-sexual setting, and not worry themselves sick about it or be embarrassed about it. More power to their good natures and their mutual tolerance of the undraped human body, which should be celebrated in its natural state without pause for shame. That's what I say, anyway.

But I was, having seen Mr Loveday's ( or Lovejoy's?)  sample of photos from the event, still struck by the reluctance of women to present their fully naked forms to the uncritical gaze of the 'audience', or the world at large, the general public, if you like. It seems still to be the case that the vast majority of participants in this event are / were male. And from the minority of women in the event, clearly many were reluctant to shed their lower underwear.  Some women are shown riding round in full underwear or bikini sets.

I won't go on about this any more, but surely -  if you're going to actively participate, i.e. do the ride, in an event which is billed as a NAKED cycle ride, you should be required to be naked, to undress fully?  With the possible exceptions of minors and OAPs?

Photos

We should set up a really small page of a few selected photos to show off the ride. a gallery of sorts. So people don't randomly have to dig through piles of photos.

Issue about page size

We probably need to break the page into shorter chunks. It's really big. The problem is, what do we break it into?

Cheers, Jesse

Tip for the Naked Bike Ride Route in London

As part of London Sustainability Weeks, Revolve Global Ltd will be holding a series of events promoting zero-emissions transport. On World Environment Day (5 June 2007) the Revolve rally will flip the famous London to Brighton Veteran Car Run on its head – driving future-cars and motorcycles from the coast to the capital. Culminating in Trafalgar Square, Revolve has partnered with GoodGoing (via Transport For London) who will be promoting eco-friendly alternatives and Greenfleet who will provide advice on eco-efficient driving.

Added to this, the vehicles will be displayed at various sites, ie: Trafalgar Square, Buckingham Palace (TBC), The Natural History Museum, etc on 9 and 10 June.

For details, go to: www.revolve.ws or contribute your thoughts at www.revolvin.blogspot.com.

Naked Bike Ride - London, 2008

I saw an article about this in a newspaper last week, and was intrigued.
