Lexington WNBR is dependent on the participation of everyone doing a little to make the ride as safe as possible.

Donations can be almost anything you want to share at the meetup. Food of any kind, body paint, poster board, tape, scissors, markers, paint brushes, and anything else that might be useful. Be sure to help clean up the starting location thirty minutes before the ride is scheduled to start.

Game Day

  • Please start preparing and cleaning up the starting location thirty minutes before the ride is scheduled to depart. Encourage others to do the same.
  • In the event of severe weather the ride will be postponed for three weeks.
  • If you have a car please leave it at home unless it's absolutely necessary it be their. There is very little parking at the meetup location, and don't leave any valuables in your cars.
  • It is recommended that everyone participating has a general idea of what the route is, and how to 'Cork.'
  • Do not have any open alcohol or drugs of any kind on you before and during the ride. In the slim chance you are arrested your more likely to be released without charges if you have no drugs or open alcohol on you. It is my understanding that the Supreme Court has always sited nudity in protest as a free speech issue, and should be protected as such.
  • There's nothing illegal about riding bicycles in a group as long as we don't stop traffic for an extended period of time.
  • Do not arrive to the meetup naked, and be sure to at least have clothing options with you at all times. We might be asked to put cloths on by officers(see Police and The Law), and you might not want to try skateboarding home alone in your undies.
  • If you're worried about being arrested or naked photos of you appearing on the internet then you're more then welcome to participate with as many cloths as you feel comfortable with. It's more important for everyone to simply have a good time.
  • It's better for this event to assume pictures of you will appear on the internet even if you'd rather no pictures be taken with you in them. Any pictures of you appearing in the Flickr Group that you'd like to be removed from there will be done so immediately.

People at the front of the ride

  • If you are unfamiliar with the route then please stay behind the front of the ride.
  • Stop at all stoplights and stop signs, and follow all traffic laws that cars must obey.
  • Please think of the people behind you. If you dart out in front of cars then riders behind you might think a particular intersection is safe to proceed.
  • It's recommended the people leading the should have a speedometer of some kind because we want the ride to stay around 11 MPH, but should never exceed 14 MPH.

Self Appointed Volunteers

  • Anyone interested in Volunteering on Game Day needs to print a hard copy of the route to bring with them, and read over how to correctly Cork.
  • When nearing streets to turn shout the turn, and street name like 'Right on Rose' for example.
  • Make sure to follow All traffic laws at all times please. Stop at all traffic lights and signs unless the intersection has been successfully corked.
  • Cork all intersections and direct participants to proceed.
  • If the ride should split up (again) try and lead the split group to either the starting location or try to intercept the group by going somewhere they're going to be.
  • If the ride is leaderless or should become leaderless(I get a flat, or find something better to do) please follow this Wiki in it's entirety with emphasis on the following.
  • Recommend printing a hard copy of the route if possible
  • Leave at the designated time
  • Follow all traffic laws
  • cork whenever possible
  • Shout directions on the ride

The Route

  • Please start preparing and cleaning up the starting location thirty minutes before the ride is scheduled to depart. Encourage others to do the same.
  • It's recommended Everyone Participants and self appointed Volunteers should print a hard copy of the following, and bring it to the ride.

Days leading up to the next ride

Wiki Keepers

This one's fairly strait forward. Despite my best efforts the Lexington Wiki needs a few yearly 5 minute edits to help keep the ride going strong.

1.) Please help keep the Events in Lexington page updated by adding a paragraph about how the previous ride went.

2.) Create a new year on the Events in Lexington page from the Template on the Talk:Events_in_Lexington.

3.) Update the next Lexington ride date on the List of rides page.

4.) If the ride should become postponed from bad weather please indicate a new ride date three weeks after the original ride date on the Events in Lexington.

Optional:

  • Click the "Watch" tab on the Talk:Lexington Page. Discussion of the Lexington ride will be posted there.
  • For instant updates via email on changes to your 'Watchlist' click "My Preferences" on the top right of the page. Scroll down to see the email notifications box, and check the box for email updates on pages you're watching.

Street Team

I'm asked frequently "What's the best way to help out the WNBR Lex?" The Street Team section has been redesigned to better address this question. Although sharing the Naked Bike Ride on your favorite websites is helpful, the absolute easiest and cheapest way for everyone to help out is the following:

  • Please print the following images once per year to pass and post before the Next ride.
  • If you don't have a printer a local copy shop can print the following images for about 25 cents total. They'll have table cutters there to make the images much, much easier for you to cut.
    • Some copy shops allow you to email these images to them for printing rather then downloading them to a flash drive if you don't have a flash drive to use.
  • Even if only 20 people did this before the Next ride, we'd potentially reach 1,120 new people in the area per year.

Will you be one of the 20?

Make sure to select "Fit to Page," and "Landscape" when printing.

A Note to Wiki Editors

This Wiki is designed to never need updating except for grammar, spelling mistakes, broken links, formality mistakes, and unforeseen problems. The reason I keep things on this page generalized is to make this wiki easier to manage. If you have a wiki account I need help maintaining the Events in Lexington page, and how to do so is on the Wiki Keepers section.
