Riders met at Tarakohe Cement Works at 4pm. Body painting started at 3pm.
The route went along the beautiful coast road to Totally Roasted Café at Pohara Beach for awards and prizes:
- Most Original – The Mussel Inn Bush Cafe meal vouchers
- Best Environmental Message – $50 from Norton Feasey Accountants
- Funniest Message – A night for two at the Sandcastle
- Spot Prize – Jester House Café meal vouchers
- Most Glamorous – Vouchers at The Naked Possum
- Most Visible, the Under 12s – Totally Roasted Café meal vouchers
- Most Appropriate Message – $50 from Bike Lanes In Paradise
- Most Dramatic Finish – $50 Whole Foods Handbook

The 2008 World Naked Bike Ride in Golden Bay will take place on Saturday, March 8th together with other Southern Hemisphere cities on the same date.
This global event has been well supported in Golden Bay in past years, with The Golden Bay ride featured in the official WNBR calendar.
"We would have to offer the world's most beautiful WNBR route from the amazing cliffs of Tarakohe to the golden beaches of Pohara" says supporter and Golden Bay organizer Victoria Davis.
"The WNBR message addresses the world wide issue of sustainable transport and advocates more environmentally friendly cycling and less polluting cars and trucks. This includes issues like buy local, and wars being fought over oil".
"The World Naked Bike Ride is the longest running and largest global protest that has no money backers, and is run by volunteers around the world. Last year's ride included over 5,000 people."
"With the ever-increasing awareness about the benefits of healthy, fit bodies and less pollution and congestion on our roads, we expect a big turnout to this year's rides".
Participants need not be naked, however body paintings can help to get the message across.
Golden Bay rides have always been festive affairs as the local business sponsor prizes for unique categories such as Golden Bay Kayaks sponsoring 'the most "see" worthy'.
The Golden Bay ride will leave Tarakohe harbour at 3 and ride the scenic 3 kilometres to The Totally Roasted Cafe in Pohara for prizes giving.
